BVC's founder, Chris Barton built a 35 year career as a technology entrepreneur and investor, dedicated to creating lasting value for his family, partners, and employees. Since 1992, Chris founded or acquired seven companies and successfully exit each. In 2021, BVC was formed following the sale of WCS, a global telecommunications company to a $5 billion private equity firm.
Drawn by a lifelong passion for skiing and the inspiration of the mountains, Chris relocated from S. Florida to Aspen to pursue new opportunities in a community of extraordinarily successful entrepreneurs, sr. executives and family offices. After consolidating his holdings, he formed Barton VC, a focused investment platform dedicated to building a world‑class portfolio of equities, alternative assets, and luxury real estate.

2026 — New expanded Aspen, CO HQ
Continued growth and investment in several portfolio companies led to expanded office space in the iconic Aspen Elks Building. Built in 1891, one of the oldest and most venerable buildings in downtown at the base of Aspen Mountain.
